BIKER BOYS ( and flying boys too…)

Confused…… the title will be explained later.

The trip to gopalswamy batta was a much anticipated one after the biking students under the guidance of chida had already mastered the short trips.

Distance to destination 250kms, many were reluctant but managed to convince a few and to fool the rest. The main essence of the trip was softisms( our friend softy’s comments and jokes). However mr. softy wasn’t prepared for a 250kms trip so in order to take him along it was told dat we are going to mysore road coffee day which is meager 60 kms from city. So the trip began from our vintage college and the first stop was shell. There were 6 bikes and 12 guys. Everyone was getting their bike fuelled.

Softy smarty observed that the

fuel is a lot more then that needed for 60kms. He found something fishy and ke

pt on asking. But if he s smart others were smarter he was told the fuel quality is much better here. Then the journey began we were out of Bangalore by evening and cruised through Bangalore-mysore highway. The condition road was excellent, less traffic and a warm weather. Pretty d

ecent conditions for a ride. Many of the bikers hit 100kmph except hukesh chandu. Any guesses why? Yes you are right our very own gajju (vinit) was the pillion rider.

After a 60kms drive we reached coffee day and it was time to shock softy. It was then that we revealed that our destination was gopalswamy betta. But now helpless softy had no other option but to be with us. It grew dark and we were passing by a village. Suddenly srikant the part time driver of rajesh’s famous apache saw a imaginary person on road or was it a ghost??

Whatever it was, it sure made srikanth apply disc brakes and lost the balance completely. Rajesh and srikanth ‘FLEW’ I repeat ‘FLEW’ in the air before they fell down. With a little help from local police they managed to pull the bike aside. Luckily they escaped with minor injuries. A narrow escape for ghostrider and his pa

rt timer. In spite of th

e intensity of the accident we couldn’t stop laughing. Then without visualizing or hallucinating they managed to reach srirangapatnam.

That’s where others had dinner because I and chida went to get headlight fixed. We were stuck by omen that day. While driving I lost my balance because of side stand we fell down luckily we weren’t in full speed so just a few bruises and w

e were back on track.

Then we got the bike fixed and headed towards our destination. We stopped at this beautiful serene place as I and chida had 2 take the parcel dinner. That’s where the discussion of the flying episode started. It neva ended as we reached the base of gopalswamy batte. Everyone was tired so after the long ride we managed to freshen up with some comments by the fly boys.

Rajesh was quoted saying that he flew like ‘KRISH’ and srikanth had 3 things to find he was confused which one to look for first…1. His

glasses 2. The bike and 3. Rajesh vempati

He was wise enough to choose the first option. Finally after a tiring and accident filled day all went to sleep except a few. Reason being bed bugs. Next day early morning bikers were ready 2 measure the hill. There was one problem though who will gajju sit behind. Because there is every chance the bike might go downwards instead of up. Finally biking guru chida decided to take this challenging task…

After overcoming the the challenging chicanes. We managed to reach the hill top.we visited the age old famous temple I am sure rajesh must be complaining. Ouside it was a mesmerizing sight. It was very peaceful and serene with gentle breeze blowing. The mountains were all green. The simplicity of the place appealed to many of us. Then the photo sessions began. As usual people clicked themselves in different poses. Then our journey back to Bangalore began. It was even more challenging because of the fatigue of incomplete rest. However we managed to freshen up at a lodge and started towards Bangalore. In another unfortunate episode cbz s tyre was punctured. we got it fixed and headed straight for dinner.

Many memorable pictures were clicked there. All bikes lined up displaying the license plate. It was night time by then with 100kms yet to be covered. Suddenly there was an adrenaline rush and everyone was charged up, no one felt like returning back to Bangalore. Then after much of discussion about it that plan was dropped off.

Finally we decided to go back to Bangalore. However we had no idea what else was lined up for us. Just when Bangalore was 60kms away my bike s tyre suddenly burst. And it was in middle of nowhere. It was 12o clock in the night all shops were closed.

That was a time when rajesh got a good dose of softy’s jokes, I m sure that must have helped to forget the tragedy. We managed to get the puncture done and managed to get bike back on track. Finally we reached Bangalore at around 3 in the morning. In spite of the fatigue and the mishaps that took place in the trip, it was one trip that brings a smile on everyone involved in it. The peace and serenity of the place still reflects in our minds and the joy of biking or flying will be missed by all.
